What Is Online Group Therapy?
Group therapy brings people together in a structured, clinician-led setting to work on shared mental health goals. Rather than one-on-one sessions, participants learn evidence-based skills alongside others navigating similar challenges, building both clinical insight and community in the process.
At Ummah Support Services, group sessions go beyond support circles. Each program is grounded in a therapeutic framework, whether Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), or another evidence-based modality, and led with clear direction and clinical accountability.
Group therapy is a strong fit for people who want structured skill-building, benefit from peer connection, or are looking for meaningful support that is also financially sustainable.
Taskeen's Approach: Active Psychotherapy
Ummah Support Services is led by Taskeen Baig, MSW RSW, a registered social worker with more than ten years of diverse clinical experience. After years of practice, Taskeen developed Active Psychotherapy: a purposeful, step-by-step framework designed to give therapy clear direction while still honouring each person's unique story.
Rather than open-ended, unstructured sessions, Active Psychotherapy keeps clients moving forward. Each program has a roadmap. Each session builds on the last. Participants leave with concrete tools and a plan for the week ahead.
Taskeen holds registration to serve residents of Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, and territorial permission for Yukon and Nunavut.

The Affordability Difference
Traditional individual therapy typically costs $150 to $200 for a single 50-minute session.
An Ummah Support Services monthly subscription is $150 for five hours of structured, clinician-led group therapy.
That is not a discount on quality. It is a different model, designed from the ground up to make real therapeutic support financially sustainable for more people.
